The grounds of Plas Derwen include fields, dry stone walls, mature gardens, woodlands and orchards. Being on an elevated position we have magnificent views over the River Dee and beyond.
The ancient oaks provide shade for long hot lazy days relaxing in one of our hammocks or enjoying a glass of cool wine at the table under the shady umbrella.
Each season has its own beauty; from delicate spring flowers to the sweet smells of summer flowering jasmine, honeysuckle and roses, golden colours of autumn and the sparkling frosts of winter.
As you sit quietly in the garden many birds can be seen and heard; rabbits, squirrels and friendly pheasants wander around. With the the gentle stream babbling nearby it's hard to keep your eyes open! Rambling on from the gardens are Plas Derwen's fields where you can make friends with Wombat, our Welsh Mountain Pony.
