Corwen Area
Just one kilometer along the A5, Corwen is a pretty and friendly small town nestling by the River Dee with craft shops, local shops, pubs, cafes and historic Churches. For the more energetic there is an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis courts and bowling green.

Caer Drewyn
This site of an iron age settlement overlooks the town. For those who enjoy hill walking, this makes an ideal area to visit with its spectacular views en route.

Carrog
A picturesque village 4 kilometers along the A5 has a 17th century river bridge over the Dee. The fields along the river make a perfect picnic area and the village pub serves excellent food throughout the day. You can also catch a ride on the steam train to Llangollen or walk along the many country lanes around the area.

Ceiriog Valley
Further afield, set in the beautiful remote Berwyn Mountains, the Ceiriog Valley is quiet and peaceful. You might like to visit the Pistyll Rhaeder waterfalls or just meander along the lanes hedged with honeysuckle and wild flowers.

North Wales is rich in sites of interest dating from prehistoric through to Roman, Medieval to modern times. Plas Derwen is situated close to them all and as such is an ideal location to stay.
